Field Mechanic

Position Summary
As a Field Service Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for routine and emergency repairs as well as preventative maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment. Working primarily in the field with some time in the shop, this role demands strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
*- Perform maintenance and repairs based on operator inspection reports.
*- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on gas and diesel engines and powertrains.
*- Follow manufacturer and company guidelines for inspections and preventative maintenance.
*- Plan repair procedures and requisition necessary parts and materials.
*- Accurately document labor, parts, and repairs using CMMS software.
*- Overhaul engines and major components using technical references and best practices.
*- Fabricate hydraulic systems, lifting devices, and other components as needed.
*- Test equipment post-repair to confirm proper functionality.
Position Requirements
*- Proven experience as a field or heavy equipment mechanic.
*- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*- Strong diagnostic skills for gas/diesel engines and powertrains.
*- Experience with hydraulic systems and fabrication.
*- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
*- Good communication and reporting skills.
*- Valid NC Driver’s License required; CDL preferred (not required).
*- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM + rotating Saturdays 7:00 AM–12:00 PM.
*- Availability for overtime, including evenings and weekends if needed. *- Ability to lift heavy parts and tools.
*- Extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling.
*- Work in outdoor environments and all weather conditions.
